Biography of Deb McCutcheon

Al Bernier and Deb McCutcheonDeb has been involved with Public Safety for 20 years, 17 years as a fire communications operator, and 3 years as the Communications Supervisor for the London Fire Department. She has trained in Advanced Fire Dispatch, Emergency Communications and Disaster Planning.

Deb is a member of the E9-1-1 Technical Advisory Committee, responsible for the implementation and support of Enhanced 9-1-1 in London and Middlesex County. She is also involved with the 9-1-1 TTY Committee, working to improve education and access to 9-1-1 for the hearing impaired.

1998 has been a very exciting year for the London Fire Department as they work toward the activation of their new Computer Aided Dispatch and records management system. Deb has been involved in the designing and training required for this project.

During her 20 years with the London Fire Department, the Communications Centre has moved twice. Deb was instrumental in orchestrating the move to their new location at Fire Headquarters in May 1996. The Comm. Centre almost tripled in size, and Deb was able to offer work space to Environment Canada for the CANWARN station. Deb is to be congratulated for her dedication to our program and her generous donation of space.
