Air and Waste Management Association ( A & WMA)

A non-profit, non-partisan, organization that provides training, information and networking opportunities to thousands of environmental professionals in 65 countries.

Atomic Energy of Canada Ltd. (AECL)

A crown corporation established by the government of Canada to develop peaceful uses for nuclear power. AECL develops, markets, sells and builds CANDU power reactors and MAPLE research reactors.

Basel Convention on Transboundary Movement of Toxic Wastes

This global treaty strictly regulates the transboundary movements of hazardous wastes and obliges to its parties to ensure that these wastes are managed and disposed of in an environmentally sound manner.

Binational Toxics Strategy (BTS)

This is a joint initiative issued by Canada and the United States . Binational Toxicx Strategy provides a framework for actions to reduce/eliminate persistent toxic substances, especially those which bioaccumulate, from the Great Lakes Basin.

Canadian Centre for Pollution Prevention (C2P2)

A non-profit, non-government organization supported by members and sponsors that encourages actions that avoid or minimize the creation of pollution and waste

Canadian Council Of Ministers of the Environment (CCME)

Canadian Council Of Ministers of the Environment work to promote cooperation on and coordination of interjurisdictional issues such as waste management, air pollution and toxic chemicals.

Canada-Ontario Agreement (COA)

Under Canada-Ontario Agreement, both the Government of Canada and Government of Ontario share the responsibility to restore, protect and sustain the Great Lakes basin.

Environment Canada's Green Lane

Environment Canada's Green Lane provides information about the state of Canada's environment. Recycling Council of Ontario (RCO)

Recycling Council of Ontario's mission is to inform and educate the public about the generation of waste, the avoidance of waste, the more efficient use of resources and the benefits and/or consequences of these activities.

Rubber Association of Canada

The Rubber Association of Canada is the national trade association for Canadian rubber manufacturers and distributors of rubber goods.

Rubber Manufacturers Assoiciation (RMA)

Rubber Manufactures Association is the national trade association for the rubber products industry. Its members include more than 100 companies that manufacture various rubber products, including tires, hoses, belts, seals, molded goods, and other finished rubber products.

Transboundary Movement Division (TMD)

The Transboundary Movement Branch (TMB) of Environment Canada is responsible for implementing terms of international agreements aimed at the monitoring and control of transboundary movements of hazardous and non-hazardous wastes and recyclable materials. These agreements are legally binding in Canada through legislation.

Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG)

The Transportation of Dangerous Goods is regulated by the government of Canada. The "Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations," adopted by all Canadian provinces and territories, establishes safety requirements for the transportation of dangerous goods.

The United Nations - Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs)

The United Nations seek international action to protect human health and the environment through measures which will reduce and/or eliminate emissions and discharges of POPs, including developing an international legally binding instrument.
