The "Weather Winners" Highlights

The Final Top Medal Standings -The cities which placed first most often in all the weather categories. Surprisingly, Yellowknife is the runaway winner here - placing first in 12 weather categories.

Yellowknife - the Overall Weather Champion

Of the 72 weather categories, about 30% were based on year-round weather, and the rest were seasonal --about 25% winter conditions, 20% summer conditions, and 20% other seasons. In true Olympics fashion, of the 100 cities competing, there was one that could lay claim to the most firsts -- Yellowknife! This city placed first in 12 weather categories - you could say it won 12 gold medals out of a possible 72. St. John's NL was second and Thompson MB placed third.
